Carmina Burana

Published by gebjohn on

Armonico Consort’s choir and orchestra will unite with international Soprano Fflyr Wyn, Baritone, and Kathleen Ferrier Award winner, Gareth Brynmor John, and the AC Academy choirs for this performance of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana.

From the explosive opening to sublime melodies, Carmina Burana has cemented itself in musical history since its first performance in 1937. Based on 24 poems from the medieval collection of the same name, the work explores the delights, unpredictability and excesses of life. Carl Orff’s unforgettable work will be performed alongside Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, itself a great masterpiece demonstrating the composers brilliance in writing from dances to exquisite melodies.
