Performances
In Spring 2024, Gareth is performing The English Clerk in Benjamin Britten’s Death in Venice with Welsh National Opera in Cardiff and at venues across the UK. He joins Bradford Festival Chorus for their performance of Elijah, and John Rutter and the Choir of Merton College for a Faure Requiem at the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford. He is also appearing with the Bristol Symphony Orchestra performing John Pickard’s Binyon songs.
In 2023, Gareth sang Ismeron (The Indian Queen) under Emmanuelle Haïm with performances at Opera de Caen, Opera de Luxembourg and Antwerp Opera. He sang Bach’s St Matthew Passion with The Bach Choir at the Royal Festival Hall, and made his debut with the NSO in Dublin in Bach’s St John Passion. He sang his first Noye’s Fludde with Pimlico Musical Foundation, and toured the length and breadth of the country with Wild Arts Opera. In the Autumn, he partnered with harpist Alis Huws to perform Michael Stimpson’s song cycle, Dylan. They gave performances in Dylan Thomas’ childhood home in Swansea, and two performances in New York where his life ended. Before Christmas, he joined MDR Rundfunkchor in Leipzig for performances of Vaughan Williams Fantasia on Christmas Carols and Finzi In Terra Pax.
